I got to use an early version of the new Sony 14mm 1.8 lens a couple months ago. Super wide angle lenses aren't necessarily something most people use everyday, but I've always found a lot of ways to work with them. The production models finally started shipping Friday, so I though I'd share a quick shot I made of a covered bridge in Lebanon, MO. I knew when I made the image that I wanted to crop it to a square format. This might seem a little counter-intuitive to use a wide angle lens for this shot, but it lets me get really close to the subject and fill the frame. I'm only standing about 15 or 20 feet away from the bridge. Fair warning - you'll probably see a lot of shots from this lens in the future.
