Strolling Around

Sometimes you make your best shots when you’re just strolling around. I had some time to kill one evening at the Ankeny Campus of the Des Moines Area Community College, so I walked around the 15 acre lake that is the centerpiece of the campus. Midway through my stroll, the sun poked out from behind a cloud and for a few minutes made an interesting sunset. I’ve spent weeks planning landscape images. Pouring over maps, analyzing the path of the sun, checking weather patterns, preparing equipment, etc… Then sometimes I just take a stroll around a lake.
