Why you shouldn't shoot 4K if you're an indie filmmaker

Been saying this for a while, but people generally seem to continue to be caught up in the hype. Maybe these experts can articulate it better. Did a workshop/panel at a college a couple weeks ago on storytelling and new digital media, where my main focus was that even the lowest technology is so good, you can use it to tell your story. Afterwords of course there was one guy who wanted to only talk about the new Panasonic GH4 that shoots 4K. (camera isn’t even shipping yet) Please don’t let your lack of having the absolute best/latest cameras stop you - use what you have available and MAKE YOUR MOVIE!! I promise you that the lack of 4K is not going to be what keeps you out of Cannes/Toronto/Sundance/and a distribution deal.  Good luck!
